Boys Varsity Basketball

January 27th, 2012

Wayne 69, Midlakes 43
Tre Lamora scored 14 points to lead Wayne (10-3), which outscored Midlakes (5-8) 46-21 in the second and third quarters. Emmanuel Savellano scored 11 points for Midlakes.

North Rose-Wolcott 41, Monroe 38
Chris Dean had 21 rebounds and 11 rebounds for North Rose-Wolcott (6-7), which trailed by 17 points with four minutes left in the third quarter but held Monroe scoreless for a seven minute span. Sir William Rudolph grabbed 15 rebounds for Monroe.

East Rochester 38, Williamson 35
Neither team led by more than three points for most of the Wayne County league game. East Rochester (11-2) went ahead to stay on a 3-pointer by Justin Reho with about 2:15 remaining. Williamson is 3-6, 4-8.

Girls Varsity Basketball

Lyons 54, Marion 37
Sophomore Abbie Shields scored 14 points and grabbed 21 rebounds to lead Lyons (12-2), which outscored Marion 26-0 in the first quarter. Jessa Blondell had 15 points and 11 rebounds for Marion. The Lions are tied with Gananda for first in Wayne County.

Gananda 55, Sodus 24
Jen Stearns finished with 23 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals for the Blue Panthers (8-4). Hannah Prutzman had 17 points, including five 3-pointers, and four steals for Spartans (0-12).

Midlakes 48, Wayne 36
Jennifer Strub had 11 points and 10 rebounds and Sydney Jones added six steals for Midlakes (5-8). Wayne is 1-13.

Newark 54, Pal-Mac 46
Brynn Lauer had 18 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and Sabrina Macaulay grabbed 11 rebounds for Newark (14-0). Pal-Mac is 9-5.
