Boys Varsity Basketball

#4 Avon 55, #5 Gananda 52 (Class C1 quarterfinals)
Zach Mouw made two free throws with 53 seconds left to give Avon (11-8) a three-point lead. Mouw finished with eight points and six rebounds and Brandon Fuentes totaled 16 points, 5 assists and 5 steals for the Braves, who led by as many as 10 in the fourth quarter. Ian Palmer scored nine of Gananda’s (8-11) 12 points in the fourth and finished with 16.

#1 Lyons 94, #8 Pavilion 45 (Class C2 quarterfinals)
Tre Johnson finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds and Devan Veeder added 11 points and six assists for Lyons (18-1), which had nine players score at least seven points.

#2 Addison 59, #7 Williamson 44 (Class C1 quarterfinals)
Junior Dalton Lewis had 19 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 7 steals and Michael Wooldrige added 11 points and 16 rebounds for Addison (16-3). Williamson is 7-13.

#3 Honeoye 68, #6 Clyde Savannah 65
Ben Cratsley scored 16 of his 27 points in the first quarter and Honeoye (16-3) built a six-point lead in the fourth and held on. Luke Blain took over in the second half, scoring 14 points and finishing with a career-high 16 points for the Bulldogs.

Girls Varsity Basketball

#2 Waterloo 61, #7 Pal-Mac 54 (Class B quarterfinals)
Lindsay Johnson scored a game-high 24 points for Waterloo (17-3). The Indians went on a 10-0 run to open the second half and did not trail again. Brittany Szachta had 16 points for Pal-Mac (12-8).

#9 Aquinas 73, #1 Newark 65 (Class B quarterfinals)
Senior Nicole Bini scored eight of her game-high 31 points in the second overtime and junior guard Teja Reaves scored all of her career-high 21 points in the second half and overtimes for Aquinas (12-8). Reaves also grabbed eight rebounds. Senior Codi Battaglia added seven assists. Katherine Carr made a free throw with 10 seconds left in the first overtime to tie the game at 56 for Aquinas. Aquinas and Newark each turned the ball over at the end of regulation. Sabrina Macaulay finished with 22 points for the Reds (18-2).
