Sports Update – February 21, 2012

Boys Varsity Basketball

#7 Williamson 59, #10 Warsaw 39 (Class C1 first round)
Tom Stephens scored a game-high 15 points for the Marauders (7-12). Warsaw is 4-15.

#6 Clyde-Savannah 67, #11 Kendall 57 (Class C3 first round)
Jermaine Bogan scored 22 points with 10 rebounds and four steals for Clyde (12-7). Tyler Gary added 14 points, 6 assists and 3 steals. He went 3 for 3 from 3-point range.

#6 Cal-Mum 65, #11 Marion 46 (Class CC first round)
Madison Suhr scored nine of his 18 points in the fourth quarter to help Cal-Mum (10-9) pull away.
Steve Gaffney added 10 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds for the Red Raiders, who play at Bloomfield on Friday.

Girls Varsity Basketball

#7 Pal-Mac 47, #10 Mynderse 42 (Class B first round)
Kelsi Nau finished with 10 points and eight rebounds and Courtney Ameele added six rebounds and four assists for the Red Raiders (12-7). Mynderse finished 10-9.

#1 Newark 60, #16 Penn Yan 27 (Class B first round)
Senior Sabrina Macaulay scored 14 points in thethird quarter and finished with a career-high 27 to lead Newark (18-1). Brynn Lauer added 15 points and 10 assists for the Reds.

#2 Waterloo 59 vs. #15 North Rose-Wolcott 20
Lindsay Johnson scored a game-high 23 points and Lauren Deming added 11 points for the Indians (16-3).
