Boys Varsity Basketball

Wayne 71, Mynderse 56

Tre LaMora scored nine of his game-high 24 points in the third quarter as Wayne (2-0). erased a five-point halftime deficit by outscoring Mynderse 23-7. Mynderse had won 47 consecutive games in the Finger Lakes East.  Ben Bobo scored 17 points and Paul Dinehart added 16 points for the Eagles, who used a man-to-man defense to limit the Mynderse offense. Luke Ruddy led Mynderse (1-1) with 17 points.

Girls Varsity Basketball

Lyons 43, Gananda 42

Abie Shields finished with 15 points and 26 rebounds for the Lions (2-0). Michelle Suchan had 8 points and 11 rebounds, Jen Stearns had 7 steals and Darci MacFall added 17 points for the Blue Panthers (2-2).
