Lyons Loses to Cuba Rushford in Sectional Finals

Both clubs entered the game with just one loss on the year. Cuba Rushford opened the game lead 18-9 after one period and held a 27-23 lead at the half. In the third period Lyons battled back and held a slim 39-38 lead going into the final period. Both clubs went back and forth heading into the closing minutes of the game.

Derick Fera hit a three pointer with less than 15 seconds to cut the lead to three. After a missed free throw Fera attempted a last second shot but fell short. Derick seen passing the ball (#5) scored a team high 16 points in the loss. Fera was joined by teammates Tre Johnson, and Mareese Wells to the All tournament team. Teammate D.J. Long was given a sportsmanship award. Lyons ends the season with a 19-2 won lost mark.
