Stockton, Calf.: Age 93, passed away January 28, 2008. A resident of Wayne County, New York for over 70 years, Dorothy worked as a visiting registered nurse for Metropolitan Life Insurance. She is preceded in death by her husband, Byron Barclay. Together, they co-owned Briggs Rexall Drugstore in Palmyra , NY . Dorothy leaves behind her son, Byron Barclay and his partner Michael DeFalco, of Lodi , California and her sister, Pauline Canne of Sterling Heights , Michigan . Interment will be private by family in Palmyra , NY .
Campbell, Gerald M.
Palmyra : Campbell, Gerald M., died on Monday, January 28, 2008 at the age of 86. Gerry was born on October 4, 1921 in Port Gibson, New York to Victor and Louise Bastian Campbell. He and the former Margaret Murphy were married on October 16, 1944 in Palmyra , New York . Gerry was a member of the Newark Masonic Lodge, the Newark BPOE and the Carpenters Local #85 for over 50 years. He was a founding member of the Wayne ARC, the first president and charter member of the Port Gibson Fire Department and had been instrumental in preserving the steel deck bridge over the Erie Canal Wide Waters. Mr. Campbell is survived by his sons James Campbell, Robert (Marilyn) Campbell and Victor (Laurie) Campbell; grandchildren Barbara, Jerry, Jason and Andy and twelve great-grandchildren. Gerry was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Margaret Campbell; his son Richie; brothers Kenneth and Howard and sister-in-law Alice Breemes Flass. Burial will be in Port Gibson Cemetery . LYONS : Age 90, of Broad St. , passed away Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the Newark Wayne Community Hospital . Harold was born in Syracuse on April 22, 1917, a son to Frank and Ella Finch Dailey. He was an area carpenter and worked with his father for many years in the Lyons area, and was an avid bowler. He is survived by his two daughters, Sandra Smith of W. Virginia and Jacquelyn Minier of Shortsville; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister, Ethel Beckley of Maryland; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Eva in 1994, brother, William Dailey, sister, Iva Garrett. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery .

Mrs. Kneut was born on November 28,1917 in Mexico , New York , the daughter of Claude and Eva King Fravor. A hairdresser, Estella had operated her own shop in Newark for over 25 years and worked with her husband in the Kneut Appliance Store in Newark . She had been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Newark . She is survived by her daughter Lorraine (Tom) Bissell of Manchester and son Edwin (Debbie) of Sebastian, Fl, four grandchildren Christpher Kneut, Courtney Carr, Aaron and Garrett Bissell, four great grandchildren, a sister Dorothy VanDenBeckens of Lyons, a sister-in-law Doris Secor, brother-in-laws Kenneth, Francis and Bernard Kneut, several nieces and nephews. Estella was predeceased by her husband Edward in 1979, a brother William Fravor and sisters Leatta Racine and Alice Hilton. Burial will be in the Newark Cemetery .

Margaret is survived by her sons Alan P. Lapp, Duane E (Pamela) Lapp, and Davide C. (Celeste) Lapp; daughters-in law Judy Lapp and Dianne Smyczek; grandchildren Kari A. Heuston, Jason M. CLYDE : Harold "Teenie" J. Salerno passed away on January 24, 2008 after an unexpected illness. Teenie was the son of the late John F. and Mary H Dapolito Salerno. He was robust and full of life. Teenie loved cooking and baking. He enjoyed his fruit trees and making cider. He also enjoyed flying airplanes. To him being with his family was everything. He was an Air Force Veteran of World War II and was the recipient of the distinguished Purple Heart, having been shot down in the South Pacific. Teenie maintained contact with his Air Force buddies throughout the years. His children knew him as the perfect father, loving, supportive and strong of character. He will be missed forever. His friends knew he was always there when needed. He is survived by his children; Joseph T. (Kathy) Salerno, of Napa, Calif., Suzanne (Rick) Ruple, of Penfield, Diane (Mark) Kaplan of Prescott, Ariz.; grandchildren Lisa (Mike) Salamida of Walnut Creek, Calif., Steven (Leslie) Ruple, of Fairport, Jennifer (Josh) Lighthart of Westminster, Colo., and Sarah Kaplan of Martinez, Calif.; many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and family members. Newark : William “Ted” Edward Scheetz, 56 died Thursday (Jan. 31) in the DeMay Living Center . Ted was born the son of William C. and Carol Ratchford Scheetz on July 6, 1951 in Geneva , NY . He attended the Newark Schools and then worked at Gleason Works in Rochester as a machinist. Ted was a long time resident of the VA Hospital in Canandaigua after a very serious accident which left him disabled in 1980. He enjoyed going to his parent's cottage in Sodus Bay and swimming. Ted will be remembered by his parents William C. and Carol Scheetz of Newark; sister Susan (Robert) Hilfiker of FL.; several nieces and nephews; uncles John (Leona) of E. Rochester, James and Carl Scheetz both of FL.; many cousins. Ted was predeceased by his uncle Clayton Scheetz and an aunt Coral Greenan. Mrs. Welcher was born the daughter of the late William and Caroline Fretch Cole on March 16, 1929 in Newark , NY . She was a 1948 graduate of the Newark High School . Mrs. Welcher was a home body and enjoyed cooking and baking, reading and working in her flower garden. However, her biggest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
