Wayne Central – Meet the Board of Education Candidates

On May 15th, 2012 Wayne Central School District residents will have an opportunity to vote for three Board of Education member positions. The following individuals are running for the board:
JEREMY EATON of Ontario is married with two children, one of which is attending Wayne Central. He is an Academic Coach at Encompass Resources for Learning. His position entails working with at risk students in the Rochester City School District providing academic support and learning strategies. Jeremy is a 32 year resident of Wayne Central School District. He is a graduate of Wayne Central. He earned an A.S. in Liberal Arts from Finger Lakes Community College, a B.A. in History, and a M.S. Education for Students with Disabilities from St. John Fisher College.
P. MATT PRINSEN of Ontario is married with two children, both graduates of Wayne Central. He currently works as a Project Manager, for Alab, LLC and is a Service Manager at Chipdens Pool Center, Inc. Matt is a 27 year resident of Wayne Central School District. He attended Monroe Community College for two years where he studied business management and then went on to study optical engineering at Western Connecticut State University. Matt is a lifetime member and treasurer of the Ontario Fire Company, he was a past Board of Director, for the Ontario Volunteer Emergency Squad, a past board member of the National Spa and Pool Institute Association of Western New York, the Wayne Youth Football and Cheerleading Club, and the Wayne Wrestling Booster Club. In addition, he served as the past Cub Master for Cub Scout Pack 126 and was the past Committee Chair for Troop 126.
SCOTT GRISWOLD of Ontario is married with three children, all graduates of Wayne Central. He is an Account Executive at Dell Corporation. Scott is a 24 year resident of Wayne Central School District. He earned his B.S. in Math and Computer Science at SUNY Empire State. Scott is 15 year School Board Member and he was Board President from 1998 to 1999. He was a member of the Audit Committee from 2007 to 2011, a liaison for the Energy Improvement Performance Project in 2007, a member of the Program Planning Committee for the Four County School Boards Association from 2008 to 2009, and a liaison for the Ontario Primary/Elementary PTA from 2008 to 2009. In addition, he was the Component District Representative for the Board of Education of Wayne-Finger Lakes Board of Cooperative Educational Services from 2005 to 2007, a member of the Facilities Committee from 2001 to 2002, a liaison for the Ad Hoc Five Year Capital Facilities Plan Committee in 2001, a liaison for the Model Schools’ Team from 2000 to 2008, and was a past parent representative on the Committee on Special Education. Currently he is a member of the Committee on Voter Turnout. Scott also served as a den leader for the Boy Scouts and was a past chairperson for the United Way Campaign.
JOHN TRIOU of Walworth is married with two children, both attending Wayne Central. He is a Computer Systems Technology Specialist at Constellation Ginna Nuclear Power Station. John is a 20 year resident of Wayne Central School District. He earned an A.A.S. in Industrial Instrumentation Technology from Monroe Community College and a B.S. in Management Information Systems from SUNY Empire State College. John is 12 year School Board Member and served as Board President from 2004 to 2006. He was a chairperson on the Policy Committee from 2000-2004, a liaison for Model Schools from 2005 to 2006, a member of the Project SAVE Committee from 2000-2001 a member, of the Code of Conduct Committee from 2000 to 2001 and a member of the Audit Committee from 2008 to 2011. Currently he is a liaison for the Teaching Staff Collective Bargaining Unit.
SUSAN NEWMAN of Ontario is married with three children. Susan is a Doctor of Audiology at Monroe #1 BOCES. She is a 14 year resident of Wayne Central School District. She earned a B.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from SUNY Fredonia, a M.A., in Audiology from Ohio University, and Au. D. from University of Florida. Susan is a 6 year School Board Member and has served as board President since 2010 and she was Vice President in 2009. Currently, she is a member of the Regional Area Task Force Committee. Susan served as a Chairperson for the Policy Committee from 2007 to 2010, a liaison to Thomas C. Armstrong Middle School from 2006 to 2009, an alternate liaison, on the Program Planning Committee for the Four County Boards Association from 2008 to 2009. She was a member of the Board Protocol Committee, from 2007 to 2009, a member of the Building Planning Team for James A. Beneway High School from 2005-2006, and a member of the Model Schools’ Team from 2005 to 2006. In addition, she was a past member of the Ontario Primary/Elementary PTA and the Middle School Parent-Teacher Association. Susan was a recipient of NYS School Board Association Achievement Award in 2010 and again in 2012. She has served on the Four County School Board Association from 2009 to 2012. In addition, she is a member and volunteer at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in Webster, a volunteer for Ontario Parks and Recreation, a volunteer for sports booster clubs and was the Girls’ U15 Manager for Wayne Wings Soccer in 2006.
KAREN MOORE of Ontario is married with two children, both attending Wayne Central. Karen is the Vice President of Production Mono Products and Q.A. Governance at Xerox. She is a 13 year resident of Wayne Central School District. Karen earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson University and a M.B.A.at the Simon School, University of Rochester. She served as a past Committee Chair for Cub Scout Pack 127 and is, and has been, a parent representative on the Committee on Special Education since 2003.
