Man arrested after fatal stabbing in Lyons

Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies report the arrest of a Town of Lyons man after an investigation into a reported stabbing that occurred at 14 Franklin Street in the Town of Lyons.

On September 2nd at about 10:30 pm. Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Franklin St. address and found an injured hispanic male laying in the roadway in front of what is known as te Iroquois Hotel In Lyons.

Investigators determined that a Pedro L Colon and Hector O. Marquez both residents of hotel, had gotten into an argument earlier in the evening and it is believed that at some point during the argument, Pedro Colon used a knife to stab Hector Marquez several times. Hector Marquez, age 41 was transported to Newark Wayne Hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

Pedro L Colon, age 62 of 14 Franklin Street, Lyons was arrested and charged with Murder in the Second Degree, arraigned and remanded to jail on no bail.
