Williamson School Board – August 8, 2012

The Williamson Central School District Board of Education held a Finance Committee meeting prior to the regular meeting on August 8, 2012. At the Finance Committee meeting, the Board discussed the status of the reserve funds and the tax levy. This was followed by a public hearing to discuss repairs to the Middle School for deteriorating masonry.
With the Consent Agenda, the Board accepted the resignation of Maria Uribe, Monitor and approved the following appointments:
• Student interns Mark Saile and Nicholas Vitalone
• Adair Eodice, Teaching Assistant substitute
• Probationary appointment of Juanita Snyder, part-time monitor
• Probationary appointment of Hannah Hyman, full-time student aide
• Probationary emergency conditional appointment of Barbara Azzano, full-time student aide/teacher aide
• Thomas Schulte, Science Teacher, Middle/High School
• Amy Busby, Administrative Intern, Elementary School
• Fall coaches Bridget Byers – Varsity Girls Cross Country, Joanna Alexander – Junior High Girls Volleyball and Diane Luke – Junior High Cross Country
Under Old Business the board approved the second reading of Policy 7492 – Dignity for All Students Act. Under New Business the board approved:
• First reading for elimination of Policy 7491 – Bullying: Peer Abuse in the Schools
• The Substitute Teacher and Classified Substitute List for the 2012-2013 school year
• The resolution to re-establish the District Reserve Funds
• The resolution to appropriate up to $35,000 from the Repair Reserve Fund for the purpose of masonry restoration at the Williamson Middle School
• The resolution for a Tax Certiorari attorney Hacker & Murphy and GAR Appraisal
• The tax levy for the 2012-2013 school year
• An amended school board meeting schedule for the 2012-2013 school year
• Exemplary attendance awards for 32 employees
