Mayor Cramer called to order a regular Meeting of the Village Board at 7:00 PM. Meeting minutes from the October 24, 2012 meeting were approved as presented. Trustee Lohse remarked that he would prefer to see the meeting minutes include discussions, so that anyone who was not in attendance in a meeting will have a better understanding of what the board discussed and what transpired. Trustee Sliney also went on record as expressing his disapproval of the presentation of minutes, as they are at this time, as did Trustee Kelly. The board also approved the Abstract dated November 14, 2012, in the amount of $80,842.38.
Mayor Cramer requested a special meeting of the board to be held on November 28th at 7:00 PM for contractual business, which was approved by the board. A list of needed items is posted at both the American Legion Post as well as at the Village Hall.
Mayor Cramer reported that she had attended the Town’s board meeting to discuss the Village of Macedon Fire Department contract, and that the town board had denied adding additional monies into the fire truck reserves bond. She has since looked into the reserve fund and verified that all monies are, indeed, being placed into the correct account. Lastly Mayor Cramer noted that she was disappointed that in the November 8th Macedon Town Board meeting minutes it was noted that Councilwoman Pagano remarked that she was not aware that the Volunteer Firefighter Appreciation event was scheduled, and expressed that she would have liked to attend. Mayor Cramer expressed her disappointment at her remark, and felt that took away from the special event.
Deputy Mayor Frey informed the board that Boy Scout Troop #167 has not continued to express an interest in using Gravino Park for their annual Christmas Tree Sale, however she did follow up with the event’s coordinator. She also reported that she met with representatives regarding the BOA Grant, and toured the village for economic development, walkability, and host of different aspects of the village.
DPW Superintendent Dave LeMoyne reported that the sewer pumphouse pumps required re-wiring, and that concrete cutting and drainage work has begun to make room for new equipment. The Highway Department conducted road patching on Center and Lapham Streets, began leaf and brush clean-up, and completed some mowing. He also noted that all the truck radios were re-programmed to narrow bandings and will now modify the license. Lastly he noted four new cemetery foundations were installed.
Code Enforcement Officer Don Morrill reported that the new Salvatore’s Pizzeria is progressing nicely, and that several permits are making headway throughout the village as well. He also noted that he had been approached regarding software for records, which the village is looking further into. He then explained some violations and an eviction were taken care of, as well. Lastly Mr. Morrill explained that he is investigating whether or not the Village is participating in the Wayne County Intermunicipal Agreement, in an effort to extend coverage for positions when a village official is not present and a need for coverage presents itself.
Village Engineer Dan Cornwall reported on Bakewise, and noted that while the flow monitoring issues continue he will need to average the output for the month. In the meantime the company is continuing to work to rectify the situation. He also reported that he is working on revising the Sewer Ordinance and permit applications. He then recommended the services of Pathfinder for professional engineering services for an electrical system for the new generator system in the Waste Water Treatment Plant, which was approved by the board. Lastly he presented the annual Inter-Municipal Agreement for the MS4 Coaliition contract which is up for renewal. A motion was then made to grant Mayor Cramer permission to sign the MS4 Coalition Agreement contract and was approved by the board.
Fire Chief Tim Wilcox reported that he is still having difficulties sending e-mails to the village e-mail accounts, and is working with Kathy Contant to rectify the issue. He also expanded on his reports which were sent to the board, and explained how calls are being classified. EMS calls were reported as 23 total calls, broken down as: 13 in the Village of Macedon, 6 in Walworth, and 4 in the Town of Macedon. Mayor Cramer explained that all the paperwork has now been sent in to Med Ex to complete the enrollment process for the Fire Department. Lastly Mr. Wilcox reported that a pancake breakfast will be held on November 18th from 8:00 AM until 12:00 noon in the Macedon Village Fire Department.
No other business came before the board and the public meeting was adjourned at 8:40 PM for the board to then meet in Executive Session regarding contractual issues . The next regular meeting of the Macedon Village Board will be held on Wednesday, December 12th, at 7:00 PM in the Village Hall.
