Hearing set for Water District 10; Water billing relief sought
Brett DeRue, Inter-Municipal Committee..Town approved payment for Inter-Municipal Committee a payment of $500.00 in October 2012 and a final payment of $500.00 in January of 2013 to Wayne County Planning for the Inter-Municipal Committee. This is a one-time payment of $1,000.00 agreed upon in 2005 by the Sodus Town Board. (Burt Madison)
Burt Madison asked that his service to be inactive and he not billed at 6423 Shaker Rd (South Apt). Madison stated he has not had a tenant in the south apartment for over a month and will not be occupying this location for quite some time. The NYSHA (NYS Historical Association) is studying the apartment currently and will be for some time. The board agreed make 6423 Shaker Rd (South Apt only) inactive and waive the flat rate of $45.00 quarterly while no one is occupying this location. When the residence becomes occupied again with a tenant normal billing charges will resume.
Councilperson Grey submitted a letter from Sodus Microd Club 7759 Ridge Rd asking for relief from water billing since they use a minimal amount of water yearly. The board agreed to the relief for Sodus Microd Club of the 4th quarter bill for 2012 and 1st quarter bill of 2013 including all future billing years.
Councilperson Boone submitted to the Sodus Town Board an example of a certificate (Boone created) of Burial Deed for Town cemeteries. Boone will modify certificate and present final draft at the next Regular Town Board Meeting.
Dale Durkee contacted Councilperson Boone and stated he is ready to start working on restoring headstones.
Code Enforcement Al Hendrikse is going to try to locate Charles Hunter (property behind highway barn) regarding clean up that needs to be done immediately. Sodus Town Board asked that Hendrikse notify them of update at next Town Board Meeting.
Trevor Davey, Caretaker at Camp Beechwood reported that he would like to recognize Kim Buell and the Lions Club for all the hard work, time, and efforts put into Camp Beechwood. A great deal of time has been given by Buell and the Lions Club in help restoring and making the park a better place. Fire and Rescue were called for two individuals who were trapped in a Briar Patch at Beechwood. Davey reported neither individual was hurt. Davey reported many individuals have been camping at Beechwood every weekend. He stated that the dumpster has been emptied too. Davey discussed two deer blinds are very close to Beechwood property. Thus far, he has not seen anyone in them.
Bill Dubois reported the new mower has finally arrived today.
The Sodus Town Supervisor and the Sodus Town Board thanked and commended Bill DuBois and the Town of Sodus Highway Department for providing over 3 weeks of assistance to the Village of Sodus Highway Department with their construction efforts on Gaylord St. in the Village of Sodus.
A public hearing will be held for Water District No. 10, on October 25, 2012 at 7 p.m.
The 2013 Budget Public Hearing/Special Board Meeting will be held on November 5, 2012 at 7:00 pm
Supervisor LeRoy was authorized to sign Agreement for Construction & Operation of North Geneva Rd Pumping Station. The board authorized a tax exemption for the Town of Huron to the North Geneva Rd. Pumping Station under sections 406 and/ or 410 of the NYS Real Property Tax Law
A Negative Declaration in accordance with the SEQR Review relative to Water District No. 7 and the North Geneva Road Pumping Station was approved.
The board authorized payment of $50.00 to Sharon Purdy for the Village of Sodus Santa Gathering in the Village Park was seconded by Councilperson Boone. The Sodus Town Board agreed that the Town would pay $50.00 each year vs. printing colored flyers.
The board approve an additional 30-day extension authorizing Supervisor LeRoy to hire and advisor to review the SEQR Review from the Proposed Landfill in the Town of Arcadia was seconded by Councilperson Pickering.
The next Budget Meeting was set for October 17, 2012 at 6:00 pm
The board accepted Ken Datthyn’s written resignation from the Town of Sodus Zoning Board. Lou LeRoy would be the next Ad-Hoc to become a full Zoning Board Member however; Supervisor LeRoy will need to check with Lou to make sure he wants to fulfill as a full-time ZB Member first. If for any reason Lou is unable to fulfill this position, Kim Buell (Ad-Hoc) will step in as a full Zoning Board Member.
The board approved to etch a stone in Camp Beechwood in honor and memory of Dr. Martha Kincaid Before anyone can authorize the official etching of this stone, Supervisor LeRoy will need to get approval from NY State first.
