Wayne Council for the Arts celebrates 40th Anniversary

Continuing the recognition of their 40th Anniversary, Wayne County Council for the Arts is offering a new member discount.

Wayne Arts is a non-profit organization that began in 1977 in Lyons, New York. In 2002, they moved to Newark and continue to rely on support from our membership and businesses. The council is an all-volunteer arts center, dependent on private donations, grants and the energies and talents of their membership and community. They are a vibrant center for art and an integral part of the community, promoting arts and artists.

If you are a new member or someone whose membership has lapsed, the cost of a new membership is 40% off.

A new individual membership will cost only $21.00 and enjoy all benefits for a full year. A new family membership will cost only $30.00. The application can be downloaded at or pick one up at the gallery.

WC Council for the Arts has two Art Galleries. The yearly exhibit calendar begins in the Main Gallery with the annual Wayne County High School and Middle Students Art Exhibitions. Following the student exhibits, the gallery is filled with group as well as solo exhibits which span a variety of subject matter and materials. Their Main Gallery provides the community with a space to showcase the intriguing work of artists inside and outside of Wayne County. The Christine Fayad Members’ Gallery showcases the talent of our members throughout the year.
