New Deputies added to road patrol

Sheriff Barry Virts announces the addition of Deputy Sheriffs Andrea Murphy, Philip Dalton and David McFall to the Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol.

Deputy Andrea Murphy completed the Monroe County Public Safety Police Officers Training Academy on June 28, 2013. She has a Bachelor Degree in Criminology with a minor in Political Science from SUNY Cortland. Deputy Andrea Murphy lives in Newark.

Deputy Philip Dalton is a lateral transfer from the Utica Police Department with seven years of experience. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from St. John Fisher College. Deputy Philip Dalton lives in Macedon.

Deputy David McFall is a retiree from the Rochester Police Department with 22 years of experience. He will work part time on the Road Patrol. Deputy David McFall lives in Macedon.

Sheriff Virts states, “I am personally excited in what all three bring to the Sheriff’s Office; one a rookie, one a transfer with experience and a retiree with a vast amount of street experience. They can all help each other with their energy and experience. It is nice to see police officers coming to our Office with experience, rather than losing them to other police departments. It is a credit to the quality of deputies employed by the Office of Sheriff. Deputies Murphy, Dalton and McFall will enhance the law enforcement services the Sheriff’s Office provides to our communities.”
