You can’t handle the truth

Okay, it’s time for some good old fashioned truth, but I’m not sure you can handle this. Regardless of what any presidential, senate, congressional candidate tells you/ promises you while campaigning, they cannot create jobs.

I know this comes as quite a shock to many readers, but business, not government creates jobs. Here is a quick tutorial on how business creates jobs.
First comes a product or service. The “company” hires workers to meet demand. The “public” (you and me) either likes and buys the product, or the business goes kaput! Someone with a better marketing strategy, or way of cutting costs, may come in and buy the kaput “company”. This may require restructuring and possibly laying off workers to meet demand and budgeting. If the “company” succeeds, more workers may be hired and if the “company” really succeeds, a bigger outfit may swallow them up, or they may be sold, making the “company” savior lots of money, for instrumenting and gambling on the “company” turnaround.

Now, let’s suppose the “company” runs into a bunch of government hoops, paperwork and taxes that either stifles or prohibits it from succeeding. Perhaps the “company” product really sucks and does not deserve to be saved. This is where some stupid elected official butts in and tries to be the artificial savior of the not-so-successeful “company”.

Instead of paving a way with less government intrusion and taxes, the government hands out grants, PILOTS (Payment In Lieu of Taxes), government bail-outs and silly exemptions regular business would not receive. This results in tipped business conditions, unfair tax burdens on citizens and other businesses and cut backs in other parts of this world we call “capitalism”.
Scales are tipped and the whole “capitalism” thing gets out of whack. Pretty soon, the politicians, in response, must raise taxes (whew). This puts a strain on keeping other businesses afloat, which in turn, cuts jobs and leads to more government intervention.

Whether the product is milk, apples, televisions, or cars, pretty soon lots of people are on some sort of government dole to keep the system propped up. The government balance sheet is way out of sanity. More taxes, perhaps on the successful businesses, are added.

Now, add the idea that all men/women are created equal. That all men/women should be classless, own homes, drive nice cars, go to college, eat steak, whatever. If you work harder and smarter than the next guy/gal, you would be forced to share your steak with the guy/gal who is not as smart, does not work as hard, eats hamburg, perhaps even, does not want steak. This is no longer called charity, but rather government trying to balance white collar with blue collar.

Mind you, the hamburger guy may be happy and content with hamburger, but some politicians promise him/her, wave steak in front of their chops, and bemoan the guy with the steak. The hamburger guy/gal becomes discontent with just a “chicken in every pot”.

President Obama, the liberals, and even the opposition, begin making promises that sound so darn good. The Prez wants more government intrusion. This, my readers, is called socialism. I have no doubt that this Tuesday, President Obama will be reelected. Why? Because there simply are more hamburger than steak kind of people willing to believe in fairy tales and promises.
