Friday Mugshot
State Police Investigators in Wolcott reported the arrest on Monday (5/20)...
It’s Thursday night….I had a long day at work, didn’t get much sleep last night, I’ve got a terrible headache and I have no idea what to write about? To be honest, I didn’t have time to pay attention to any sports this week outside of Wayne County high school winter sports (check waynetimes.com for nightly updates). So, I’ll keep this short….
Rex Ryan is an idiot. His decision to start Mark Sanchez again this weekend after he was benched last week for throwing four interceptions is ridiculous. Sanchez should have been benched after the fourth game of the season. Why the Jets acquired Tim Tebow still confuses me. Even an injured Tebow should be starting over Sanchez at this point. Oh and that McElroy guy that came in last week….yeah…he’s not the answer either. Just call it a season and get either of your backups in to give them some experience playing in your system…enough with Sanchez….as a coach you shouldn’t need a half hour of a press conference to explain your reasoning behind choosing who will start at quarterback for the week.
The Bills finally played a decent game and I couldn’t even watch it on TV. From the occasional Red Zone coverage I did catch, it looked like the Bills were finally able to put together all the pieces. Yes, it was against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but it was nice to see them blow out a team for a change. After two weeks of “Jaguar-Mania” they finally came back to Earth. Sorry Jacksonville, Chad Henne was a good one week replacement, but he’s not your savior. While Buffalo is not going to make the playoffs, the funny thing about this Bills team is that they can’t be counted out completely just yet. They are 5-7 on the year and just sit outside the 6th seed in the AFC. That tells you how weak the AFC truly is this season.
How about those Colts? They are having an amazing season right now! It kind of makes me wish Buffalo had drafted a quarterback in this year’s draft. Andrew Luck’s game-winning pass in Detroit was exciting. Indianapolis has been the best story in the NFL all season long!
On the flip side….the Carolina Panthers season is not going so well. Not only have they only won three games this year, they also haven’t won a coin toss all season. So they turned to their fans. They voted on Facebook, and decided that the Panthers should call heads. So before Sunday’s game in Kansas City the Panthers called heads. They’re now 0-13 in coin tosses (odds of 192/ 1).
I went 9-7 overall last week (my worst picks of the season), 1-2 with my upset picks and 2-1 with my locks. Record: Overall (128-62), Upsets (20-17), Locks (20-4).
